Hizb 46
< random >
Verily Jonah is one of the apostles. 139 He ran away to the laden ship, 140 And lots were cast (when a storm overtook them), he was rejected, (and thrown overboard). 141 The fish swallowed him up and he deserved (all this). 142 But had it not been that he was of those who glorify (Us), 143 he would have lingered in its belly till the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ We then put him ashore on a plain, and he was sick. 145 and We caused to grow over him a tree of gourds. 146 We sent him as a messenger to a hundred thousand people or more, 147 So they accepted faith We therefore gave them usage for a while. 148 Now, ask them, has your Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Verily, it is of their falsehood that they (Quraish pagans) say: 151 "God has begotten [a son]"; and verily, they are lying [too, when they say,] 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you form your judgement? 154 Will you not then mind? 155 Do you have any clear authority for such claims? 156 Produce, then, that divine writ of yours, if you are speaking the truth! 157 They link Him with jinns by lineage, yet the jinns know they will be brought before Him. 158 Exaltations to Allah above what they describe, 159 Except His chosen creatures who do not. 160 So you and your deities 161 can cause anyone to fall prey to your temptation 162 Save him who is to burn in hell. 163 "There is not one of us who does not have his appointed place," (declare the angels.) 164 “And indeed we, with our wings spread, await the command.” 165 we are they that give glory. 166 They used to say: 167 Had we a reminder from those of yore, 168 We would have been the chosen creatures of God." 169 Yet now (that it has come) they refuse to believe in it; but they will come to know soon. 170 And surely Our word has gone forth respecting Our servants, the messengers: 171 That verily they! they shall be made triumphant. 172 And [that] indeed, Our soldiers will be those who overcome. 173 So turn thou from them for a while, 174 And watch them (how they fare), and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 175 Do they really wish to hasten Our punishment? 176 But when it shall descend in their court, evil shall then be the morning of the warned ones. 177 So turn away from them for a time 178 And (then) see, for they too shall see. 179 LIMITLESS in His glory is thy Sustainer, the Lord of almightiness, [exalted] above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 180 Peace be with the Messengers (of God). 181 And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds. 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
