The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the event befalleth - 1 There is, at its occurrence, no denial. 2 abasing, exalting, 3 when the earth will suddenly shake with a terrible shaking, 4 And the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms, 5 and become a dust, scattered, 6 On that day, you (mankind) will be divided into three groups: 7 Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 And the foremost are the foremost, 10 It is they who are the close ones. 11 in the beautiful Paradise. 12 A throng of the ancients, 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 on lavish couches 15 Reclining therein face to face. 16 There wait on them immortal youths 17 carrying goblets and ewers and cups filled with the purest wine, 18 Wherefrom they get no aching of the head nor any madness, 19 and such fruits as they shall choose, 20 And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire. 21 And wide eyed houris 22 like unto pearls [still] hidden in their shells. 23 a recompense for all that they did. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 Only a saying: "Peace, peace." 26 As for those of the right hand -- how (happy) those of the right hand -- 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 and acacias flower-clad, 29 And a shade ever-spread. 30 And water gushing, 31 And fruit in plenty, 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 And on Thrones (of Dignity), raised high. 34 Surely We have made them to grow into a (new) growth, 35 and shall have made them virgins, 36 intensely loving and of matching age. 37 for the people of the right hand 38
