Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When heaven is split open, 1 the stars are dispersed, 2 And when the seas are made to flow forth, 3 and when the graves are overturned 4 every human being will [at last] comprehend, what he has sent ahead and what he has held back [in this world]. 5 O man! what hath beguiled thee concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 The One Who created you, then moulded you, then made you proper? 7 In whatever form He willed has He assembled you. 8 Yet you deny the Last Judgement. 9 But verily, over you (are appointed angels in charge of mankind) to watch you. 10 noble scribes 11 They know whatsoever ye do. 12 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 13 And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire. 14 which they will enter on the Day of Judgment 15 And will not be absent thence. 16 And what could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 17 Again: what will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
