The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Most Merciful 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 Has created Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) as the soul of mankind. 3 He has imparted unto him articulate thought and speech. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 [before Him] prostrate themselves the stars and the trees. 6 And Allah has raised the sky; and He has set the balance. 7 That you may not be inordinate in respect of the measure. 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 therein fruits, and palm-trees with sheaths, 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 16 Lord of both the Easts, and Lord of both the Wests! 17 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 21 There come forth from the twain the pearl and the coral. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 25
