The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 and the night that falls, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
