The notables among his people who had refused to believe and who denied the meeting of the Hereafter, and those whom We had endowed with ease and comfort in this life, cried out: "This is no other than a mortal like yourselves who eats what you eat and drinks what you drink. 33 If you obey a mortal like yourselves, then you will be losers. 34 What, does he promise you that when you are dead, and become dust and bones, you shall be brought forth? 35 ۞ “How remote, (really) how remote is the promise you are given!” 36 There is no life beyond our life in this world: we die and we live [but once,] and we shall never be raised from the dead! 37 He is naught but a man who has forged against God a lie, and we will not believe him.' 38 The Messenger prayed, "Lord, help me; they have called me a liar". 39 [And God] would say: "After a little while they will surely be smitten with remorse!" 40 Then the shout laid hold of them in truth, and We made them a refuse; so away with the wrong-doing people! 41 After them We produced other generations 42 No nation can go before its term ends nor stay back. 43 Then We sent Our Messengers in succession, every time there came to a nation their Messenger, they denied him, so We made them follow one another (to destruction), and We made them as Ahadith (the true stories for mankind to learn a lesson from them). So away with a people who believe not. 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our miracles and clear authority 45 unto Pharaoh and his great ones; but these behaved with arrogance, for they were people wont to glorify [only] themselves. 46 They said, "Should we believe two men like ourselves while their people are for us in servitude?" 47 So they rejected them, calling them liars, and they too eventually became of those that were destroyed. 48 We gave the Book to Moses so that perhaps they may have guidance. 49 We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign, and gave them a refuge on a hillside where there was a hollow and a spring. 50
