The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 And when the seas rise, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Where then are you going? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
