The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Of what ask they? 1 (It is) of the awful tidings, 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 (What they think is certainly despicable!). They will soon come to know (the reality). 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse, 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 and made your sleep a means of repose, 9 And We have made the night a covering. 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 And We have built above you seven strong ones, 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 From the rain clouds We send waters pouring down in abundance, 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 And gardens of thick growth. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 The heavens will have openings like doors. 19 The mountains will be driven away and become like mirages. 20 Certainly Hell lies in wait, 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 Living therein for ages. 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 a fitting requital, 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false. 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30
