And assuredly the dwellers of Hijr belied the sent ones. 80 We sent them Our Signs, but they persisted in turning away from them. 81 They used to hew out houses from the mountains and lived in security. 82 So the rumbling overtook them in the morning; 83 And all that which they used to earn availed them not. 84 And We have not created the heavens and earth and that between them except in truth. And indeed, the Hour is coming; so forgive with gracious forgiveness. 85 Verily, your Lord is the All-Knowing Creator. 86 AND, INDEED, We have bestowed upon thee seven of the oft repeated [verses,] and [have, thus, laid open before thee] this sublime Qur'an: 87 So covet not things We have bestowed on a portion of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and protect those who believe; 88 And say, "Indeed, I am the clear warner" - 89 So We sent it down to the partitioners, 90 Those who made the Quran into shreds. 91 Them, by thy Lord, We shall question, every one, 92 For all that they used to do. 93 Therefore proclaim openly (Allah's Message Islamic Monotheism) that which you are commanded, and turn away from Al-Mushrikun (polytheists, idolaters, and disbelievers, etc. - see V. 2:105). 94 Lo! We defend thee from the scoffers, 95 Who set some other god along with Allah. But they will come to know. 96 Indeed, We know that your breast is straitened at what they say. 97 But you should glorify your Lord with praises, and be among those who bow in submission; 98 And serve your Lord until there comes to you that which is certain. 99
