Al-Saaffaat 4 of 5
We certainly bestowed Our favor upon Moses and Aaron 114 and We delivered both of them and their people from the great calamity. 115 And We helped them, so that they were the victors; 116 And We vouchsafed unto the twain a Book luminous. 117 and guided them upon the Straight Path. 118 and preserved for them a good name among posterity. 119 'Peace be upon Moses and, Aaron!' 120 Even thus do We reward the doers of good. 121 they were among Our believing servants. 122 So also was Elias among those sent (by Us). 123 When he said to his people, "Will you not fear Allah? 124 "Will you call upon Ba'l (a well- known idol of his nation whom they used to worship) and forsake the Best of creators, 125 who is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers?" 126 Then they belied him, so verily they are to be brought up. 127 except Allah's chosen servants. 128 We perpetuated his praise in the later generations. 129 Peace be upon Elias. 130 In this way do We reward the righteous ones. 131 he was among Our believing servants. 132 And indeed, Lot was among the messengers. 133 Wherefore We saved him and his entire family 134 except for an old woman who was among those that stayed behind. 135 Then We destroyed the rest [i.e. the towns of Sodom at the place of the Dead Sea (now) in Palestine]. [See the "Book of History" by Ibn Kathir]. 136 You pass by their ruins morning 137 and at night, will you not understand? 138
