The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 it is not a jest. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 Therefore give them some respite – give them some time. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
