Samood rejected the warning. 23 For they said: "What! a man! a Solitary one from among ourselves! shall we follow such a one? Truly should we then be straying in mind, and mad! 24 Has the [Divine] message been revealed to him alone of all of us? No, he is a boastful liar." 25 (To him We said): 'Tomorrow they shall know who is the arrogant liar. 26 Indeed, We are sending the she-camel as trial for them, so watch them and be patient. 27 And inform them that the water is shared between them, each [day of] drink attended [by turn]. 28 In response they called their companion – he therefore caught and hamstrung the she-camel. 29 So how did My punishment turn out, and My warnings? 30 We sent upon them a single blast of sound and they were left like hay to be used by the cattle. 31 Indeed, We have made the Quran easy to learn lessons from. Is there anyone who would receive admonition? 32 The people of Lot rejected Our warning. 33 Surely We sent upon them a stonestorm, except Lut's followers; We saved them a little before daybreak, 34 as a favour from Us. Thus do We reward those who give thanks. 35 And certainly he warned them of Our violent seizure, but they obstinately disputed the warning. 36 and even demanded that he give up his guests [to them]: whereupon We deprived them of their sight [and thus told them, as it were]: "Taste, then, the suffering which I inflict when My warnings are disregarded!" 37 In the morning early there came upon them a settled chastisement: 38 "So taste ye My Wrath and My Warning." 39 We have made it easy indeed to learn lessons from the Quran. Is there anyone who would receive admonition? 40
