Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Verily, We sent Nuh (Noah) to his people (Saying): "Warn your people before there comes to them a painful torment." 1 [Noah] said, "My people! I am but a plain warner to you, 2 That you should worship God and fear Him, and follow me 3 "He (Allah) will forgive you of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Verily, the term of Allah when it comes, cannot be delayed, if you but knew." 4 He said: "O Lord, I called my people night and day, 5 "But all my calling added nothing but to (their) flight (from the truth). 6 And whenever I called them, that Thou mightest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, and wrapped them in their garments, and persisted, and waxed very proud. 7 "So I have called to them aloud; 8 And declared to them in public and in private, 9 "Saying, 'Ask forgiveness from your Lord; for He is Oft-Forgiving; 10 He will shower upon you heavenly blessings abundant, 11 and will aid you with worldly goods and children, and will bestow upon you gardens, and bestow upon you running waters. 12 What is the matter with you that you deny the greatness of God, 13 ‘Whereas it is He Who created you in different stages?’ 14 Do you not see how God has fashioned seven skies one above the other, 15 and set the moon therein for a light and the sun for a lamp? 16 And Allah has caused you to grow from the earth a [progressive] growth. 17 and [then] He will bring you forth [from It] in resurrection. 18 how God has spread the earth out for you 19 "'That ye may go about therein, in spacious roads.'" 20
