The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful One 1 has taught the Qur'an, 2 Created man, 3 Has taught him the knowledge of the past and the future. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 That you may not be inordinate in respect of the measure. 8 And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 Lord of the two easts and of the two wests is He. 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 By His command, the ships with raised masts sail on the sea like mountains. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25
