The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 O Man! Thou art labouring unto thy Lord laboriously, and thou shalt encounter Him. 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And he shall return unto his people joyfully. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 [even thus, O men,] are you bound to move; onward from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 except to those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for theirs is an unfailing recompense. 25
