By the moon, 32 And the night when it departs, 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 Except those on the right side. 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 as if they were startled asses 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
