Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 By the receding night 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 A warning for people -- 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Except those on the right side. 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 About the guilty: 41 What has brought you into hell? 42 They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, 43 we fed not the needy, 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 and belied the Day of Recompense 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 As they were frightened asses 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
