Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
