Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 Then by oath of those which move with ease. 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed, 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 By the heaven with its numerous forms: 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless. 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 [And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient." 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 In whose wealth the suppliant and the deprived had a share. 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 In the heavens there is your sustenance and that which you were promised (Paradise). 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
