The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 And when the books are spread, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 The rising dawn, 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
