Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds which scatter dust, 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 CONSIDER the firmament full of starry paths! 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 Turned aside therefrom (i.e. from Muhammad SAW and the Quran) is he who is turned aside (by the Decree and Preordainment of Allah). 9 Death to those whose opinions are merely baseless conjectures. 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 On the Day of Judgment they will be punished by the fire 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 and the beggar and the outcast had a share in their wealth. 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 And in the heaven lies your sustenance, and the promise you are given. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
