And Noah had certainly called Us, and [We are] the best of responders. 75 And We delivered him and his people from the great distress, 76 And made his progeny survive, 77 and We left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 78 Peace be on Nuh among the worlds. 79 Verily, thus do We reward the doers of good 80 he was truly one of Our faithful servants. 81 Then afterwards We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ And indeed Ibrahim is from his (Nooh’s) group. 83 When he came to his Lord with a heart compliant, 84 and when he said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship? 85 It is falsehood that you desire gods other than Allah! 86 "Then what do you think about the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists)?" 87 He cast a glance at the stars 88 And he said: "Verily, I am sick (with plague. He did this trick to remain in their temple of idols to destroy them and not to accompany them to the pagan's feast)." 89 So they turned away from him, and departed (for fear of the disease). 90 Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What ails you, that you speak not?' 92 And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand. 93 His people came rushing towards him, 94 He answered: "Do you worship something that you [yourselves] have carved, 95 “Whereas Allah has created you and your actions?” 96 They exclaimed: "Build a pyre for him, and cast him into the blazing fire!" 97 So they tried to execute their evil scheme upon him – We therefore degraded them. (Allah saved him, by commanding the fire to turn cool). 98 Abraham said: “I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 whereupon We gave him the glad tiding of a boy-child gentle [like himself]? 101 When he was old enough to go about with him, he said: "O my son, I dreamt that I was sacrificing you. Consider, what you think?" He replied: "Father, do as you are commanded. If God pleases you will find me firm." 102 When both surrendered (to Allah's command) and Abraham flung the son down on his forehead, 103 We called out to him, "Abraham, 104 thou hast confirmed the vision; even so We recompense the good-doers. 105 That was indeed a trying test. 106 So We ransomed him for a great sacrifice, 107 and left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among later generations: 108 Peace be unto Abraham! 109 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 110 He is truly among Our faithful creatures. 111 So We gave him the good news of Isaac, apostle, who is among the righteous. 112 We had blessed him and Isaac. Some of their offspring were righteous and others were openly unjust to themselves. 113
