Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers. 139 Call to mind when he fled to the laden ship, 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was among the losers, 141 Then a fish swallowed him, and he was blameworthy. 142 Had he not been one of those who acknowledge the glory of God, 143 he would have lingered in its belly till the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ but We caused him to be cast forth on a desert shore, sick [at heart] as he was, 145 and caused a creeping plant to grow over him [out of the barren soil]. 146 and We sent him forth to a nation of a hundred thousand or more, 147 And they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad SAW): "Are there (only) daughters for your Lord and sons for them?" 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Verily, it is of their falsehood that they (Quraish pagans) say: 151 "Allah has begotten children"? but they are liars! 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What is the matter with you that you make such strange judgements? 154 Will ye not then be admonished? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Bring your Book, if what you say is true! 157 And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). 158 God is too glorious for what they ascribe to Him 159 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 160 For, verily, neither ye nor those ye worship- 161 You cannot make anyone rebel against Him. 162 except him who shall roast in the Blazing Fire. 163 None of us is there, but has a known station; 164 And most surely we are they who draw themselves out in ranks, 165 “And indeed we are those who say His purity.” 166 And surely they used to say: 167 “If only we had the Reminder which had been granted to the people of yore 168 we would surely have been God's chosen servants," 169 But they disbelieve in it (the Koran), but soon they shall know! 170 And certainly Our word has already gone forth in respect of Our servants, the apostles: 171 That they verily would be made triumphant. 172 and that Our hosts shall triumph. 173 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 174 and see, and soon they too shall see. 175 Do they, then, [really] wish that Our chastisement be hastened on? 176 Then, when it descends into their courtyard (i.e. near to them), evil will be the morning for those who had been warned! 177 So turn thou from them for a while, 178 and see; soon they shall see! 179 Glorified be your Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they attribute unto Him! 180 And peace be upon the Envoys; 181 And all praise unto Allah the Lord of the worlds. 182
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
