(Recount to them about the time) when Your Lord called Moses: "Go to the wrong-doing people, 10 the people of Pharaoh, will they not fear God? 11 He said, “My Lord, I fear that they will deny me.” 12 My heart is constrained, my tongue falters, so delegate Aaron; 13 They also have a sin against me, and I fear they will slay me.' 14 He said: 'Never so, go both of you with Our signs; We shall be with you, listening 15 Go to Pharaoh and say, 'We are the messengers of the Lord of the worlds, 16 ‘That you let the Descendants of Israel go with us.’” 17 Said Firaun, “Did we do not raise you amongst us, as a child? And you spent many years of your life among us!” 18 And you did (that) deed of yours which you did, and you are one of the ungrateful. 19 Replied [Moses]: "I committed it while I was still going astray; 20 and I fled from you because I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and made me one of the messengers. 21 "And this is the past favour with which you reproach me, that you have enslaved the Children of Israel." 22 Fir'awn said: and what is the Lord of the worlds? 23 He said, 'The Lord of the heavens and earth, and what between them is, if you have faith.' 24 (The Pharaoh) said to those around him: "Do you hear?" 25 He said: Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of old. 26 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Verily, your Messenger who has been sent to you is a madman!" 27 (Moses) said: "Lord of the East and the West, and all between! if ye only had sense!" 28 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "If you choose an ilah (god) other than me, I will certainly put you among the prisoners." 29 [Moses] said, "Even if I brought you proof manifest?" 30 [Pharaoh] said, "Then bring it, if you should be of the truthful." 31 So he cast his staff, and behold, it was a serpent manifest. 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo, it was white to the beholders. 33
