The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 Hath made known the Qur'an. 2 He created the human being 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 the stars and the trees bend in prostration. 6 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 Therefore, maintain just measure and do not transgress against the Balance. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 And created jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 In-between the twain is a barrier which they pass not. 20 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 21 From the two oceans comes pearls and coral. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 25

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
