Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
