Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
HAS THERE COME unto thee the tiding of the Overshadowing Event? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 Burning in the scorching fire, 4 The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring, 5 no food for them but cactus thorn 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 They will live in an exalted garden 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 raised couches, 13 and goblets set at hand, 14 and cushions arrayed 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted? 19 And the earth – how it has been spread out? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 However, as for him who turns away, being bent on denying the truth, 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 Then it will be for Us to call them to account. 26
