Nay, by the moon, 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 except those of the right hand 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 concerning the sinners, 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, 43 and we did not feed the needy. 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
