When the messengers came to Lot and his family, 61 He said, “You are an unfamiliar people.” 62 They said: "Nay, we have come to you with that (torment) which they have been doubting. 63 And bring thee the Truth, and lo! we are truth-tellers. 64 Go, then, with thy household while it is yet night, with thyself following them in the rear; and let none of you look back, but proceed whither you are bidden." 65 And We informed him the decision of this command, that at morning the root of the disbelievers would be cut off. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. (* To the house of Prophet Lut.) 67 Said Lot: "These are my guests; do not put me to shame, 68 but be conscious of God and disgrace me not!" 69 They replied, "Did we not forbid you to bring anyone to your house?" 70 Lot exclaimed in exasperation: "If you are bent on doing something, then here are my daughters." 71 [But the angels spoke thus:] "As thou livest, [O Lot, they will not listen to thee:] behold, in their delirium [of lust] they are but blindly stumbling to and fro!" 72 So they were seized by the mighty blast at break of day; 73 And We made the upside there of downwards, and We rained on them stones of baked clay. 74 Indeed in this are signs for people who perceive. 75 And verily they are on a pathway lasting. 76 Surely! Therein is indeed a sign for the believers. 77 And the dwellers in the wood indeed were evil-doers. 78 and so We inflicted Our retribution on them. And behold, both these [sinful communities] lived by a highway, [to this day] plain to see 79

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
