The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 when earth is stretched out 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 shall cry for “perdition,” 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 Surely he was (erstwhile) joyful among his followers. 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
