The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 When the earth is stretched out taut 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 Will pray for death, 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 And by the moon when she is at the full, 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 except those that believe, and do righteous deeds -- theirs shall be a wage unfailing. 25
