The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what sin she was killed 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And the breath of morning 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 where then are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
