The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 (It is) of the awful tidings, 2 on which they [so utterly] disagree. 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Did We not make the earth a spreading, 6 The mountains tent-pins? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And have appointed your sleep for repose, 9 And have appointed the night as a cloak, 10 And We made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour? 13 and have sent down out of the rainclouds water cascading 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 And dense gardens. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 the day the Trumpet is blown, and you shall come in troops, 18 The heavens will be opened wide and turn into so many doors, 19 The mountains will be driven away and become like mirages. 20 Lo! hell lurketh in ambush, 21 For the transgressors, a place of return, 22 therein to tarry for ages, 23 They will neither taste anything cool in it, nor anything to drink. 24 save boiling water and a stinking fluid -- 25 Requital corresponding. 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 And rejected Our signs as lies. 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 [So We shall say], "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
