We were indeed gracious to Moses and Aaron, 114 and We saved them and their people from the awesome calamity [of bondage,] 115 We succoured them, and they gained the upper hand (against their enemies). 116 And We gave them the divine writ that made [right and wrong] distinct, 117 And We guided them both on the right way. 118 And We perpetuated (praise) to them among the later generations. 119 Peace be on Musa and Haroun. 120 Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 121 Indeed, they were of Our believing servants. 122 And verily, Iliyas (Elias) was one of the Messengers. 123 He asked his people: 'Do you not fear (Allah)? 124 Do you call on Baal, and abandon the Best of creators? 125 God your Lord and Lord of your forefathers?" 126 But they called him a liar, therefore they shall most surely be brought up. 127 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 128 We left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among the following generations -- 129 Peace be with the followers of Elias. 130 This is how We reward the virtuous. 131 Lo! he is one of our believing slaves. 132 And verily Lut was of the sent ones. 133 We rescued him and his whole family, 134 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 135 Then We destroyed the others. 136 And most surely you pass by them in the morning, 137 and at night. Will you then not understand? 138
