Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, 5 No food for them save bitter thorn-fruit 6 Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 Rejoicing over their efforts. 9 in a sublime garden, 10 where they will hear no idle talk, 11 In it there shall be a flowing spring, 12 raised couches, 13 and prepared goblets, 14 And cushions lined up 15 And silken carpets spread. 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the mountains – how they have been established? 19 And the earth, how it was spread out? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 But if any turn away and reject Allah,- 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Truly, to Us is their return; 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
