O YOU APOSTLES! Partake of the good things of life, and do righteous deeds: verily, I have full knowledge of all that you do. 51 And verily this religion of yours is one religion, and I am your Lord, so fear Me. 52 Yet they divided themselves into factions, each rejoicing in what they had. 53 So leave thou them in their perplexity for a time. 54 Do they think that by increasing their wealth and children 55 We hasten unto them with good things (in this worldly life so that they will have no share of good things in the Hereafter)? Nay, but they perceive not. 56 Indeed those who are overwhelmed due to the fear of their Lord – 57 And those who believe in the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord, 58 And those who ascribe not partners unto their Lord, 59 Who give whatsoever they give (in His way), and their hearts tremble with fear that they have to go back to their Lord, 60 These are hastening on to good, and they are therein foremost. 61 On no soul do We place a burden greater than it can bear: before Us is a record which clearly shows the truth: they will never be wronged. 62 Nay, but their hearts are in ignorance of this (Qur'an), and they have other works, besides, which they are doing; 63 Until, when We grasp those of them who lead a luxurious life with punishment, behold! They make humble invocation with a loud voice. 64 [But they will be told] "Cry not in supplication today; for, behold, you shall not be succoured by Us! 65 My signs were recited to you, but upon your heels you withdrew, 66 behaving arrogantly, and making fun, and talking nonsense (about the Book in your nightly chats)." 67 Pondered they not over the Word? or came there unto them that which came not unto their fathers ancient? 68 Or did they not recognise their Messenger and so denied him? 69 Or do they say: There is madness in him? Nay! he has brought them the truth, and most of them are averse from the truth. 70 If the Truth had been in accord with their desires, truly the heavens and the earth, and all beings therein would have been in confusion and corruption! Nay, We have sent them their admonition, but they turn away from their admonition. 71 Do you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) ask any fee from them? So the reward of your Lord is the best; and He is the Best Provider of Sustenance. 72 Indeed you are calling them to a Straight Path, 73 But those who believe not in the Hereafter turn away from the straight path. 74 ۞ Were We to be merciful to them and remove from them their present afflictions, they would persist in their transgression, blindly wandering on. 75 (They are such) that We seized them with chastisement (and yet) they did not humble themselves before their Lord, nor do they entreat 76 when We opened on them a gate of severe punishment, they utterly despaired. 77
