Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky breaks apart 1 and when the stars are scattered, 2 And when the seas are erupted 3 And when the graves are ransacked, 4 (Then) shall each soul know what it hath sent forward and (what it hath) kept back. 5 Human being, what evil has deceived you about your Gracious Lord, 6 Him Who created thee. Fashioned thee in due proportion, and gave thee a just bias; 7 In whatever form He willed, He put you together. 8 Rather, you belied the Recompense. 9 Lo! there are above you guardians, 10 Generous and recording, 11 They know whatsoever ye do. 12 The virtuous ones will live in bliss 13 And verily the ungodly shall be in a Scorch. 14 They shall enter it on the Day of Recompense 15 nor shall they ever be absent from it. 16 And what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? 17 And once again: What could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 18 (It will be) the Day when no person shall have power (to do) anything for another, and the Decision, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19
