The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Then where are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
