Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky breaks apart 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 When the Oceans are suffered to burst forth; 3 And when the graves are laid open, 4 the soul shall know what it has done, the former and the latter. 5 Human being, what evil has deceived you about your Gracious Lord, 6 who has created thee, and formed thee in accordance with what thou art meant' to be, and shaped thy nature in just proportions, 7 Into whatever form He pleased He constituted you. 8 Rather, you belied the Recompense. 9 Lo! there are above you guardians, 10 noble scribes 11 who know whatever you do. 12 Surely the virtuous shall be in Bliss, 13 The wicked certainly in Hell: 14 which they shall enter on the Day of Judgement, 15 And will not be absent thence. 16 And what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? 17 Again, what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 18 On that day, no soul will be of any benefit to any other soul. On that day, all affairs will be in the hands of God. 19
