Thamud denied the messengers 141 When their fellowman Saleh said to them, “Do you not fear?” 142 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 143 so fear God and obey me. 144 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 145 "Do you think that you will be left secure [forever] in the midst of what you have here and now? 146 amidst [these] gardens and springs 147 And cornfields and palm-trees having fine spadices? 148 You hew dwellings in mountains and exult in that. 149 So be mindful of God and listen to me. 150 Do not obey the order of the wasteful, 151 “Those who spread turmoil in the earth, and do no reform.” 152 They said: "You are only of those bewitched! 153 "You are but a human being like us. Then bring us a sign if you are of the truthful." 154 Salih said: "This is a she-camel. There is a day set for her to drink and there is a day set for you to drink. 155 Do not cause her to suffer lest you become subject to the torment of the great day (of Judgment)." 156 But they hamstrung her, and in the morning they were remorseful, 157 But the Penalty seized them. Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 158 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 159
