Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 Others will be despondent, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
