Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
