The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
