The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Of what do they ask one another? 1 (It is) of the awful tidings, 2 About which they have been differing? 3 Nay, but in time they will come to understand [it]! 4 Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know! 5 Have We not made the earth a resting place? 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 And (have We not) created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), 10 And We made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 and have sent down out of the rainclouds water cascading 14 That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation 15 And gardens of luxurious growth? 16 Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 And the mountains will have been removed away, and they will have become as mirage. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 therein they shall abide for ages, 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 except boiling water and pus 25 An appropriate recompense. 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 And they denied Our signs to the extreme. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment, 30
