Al-Duhaa
The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I swear by the early hours of the day, 1 And [by] the night when it covers with darkness, 2 Your Lord has neither left you, nor despises you. 3 Indeed what is to come will be better for you than what has gone by. 4 And verily, your Lord will give you (all i.e. good) so that you shall be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you as an orphan and give you shelter? 6 And find you lost (that is, unrecognized by men) and guide (them to you)? 7 Did He not find thee destitute and enrich (thee)? 8 So do not oppress the orphan, 9 And do not rebuke the beggar. 10 And as to the favour of thine Lord, discourse thou thereof. 11
