Al-Saaffaat 4 of 5
Verily We bestowed Our favours on Moses and Aaron 114 And saved them and their people from the great distress, 115 And We supported them so it was they who overcame. 116 And We gave them the explicit Scripture, 117 And We guided them on the straight path. 118 and perpetuated their praise in later generations. 119 Peace be upon Moses and Aaron. 120 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 121 Indeed, they were of Our believing servants. 122 And indeed, Elias was from among the messengers, 123 When he said unto his folk: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 124 Call ye upon Bal and forsake the Best of creators. 125 Allah, your Lord and Lord of your forefathers? 126 Then they belied him, so verily they are to be brought up. 127 except Allah's chosen servants. 128 We left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among the following generations -- 129 Peace be unto Elias! 130 Even thus do We reward the doers of good. 131 he was among Our believing servants. 132 And indeed Lut is one of the Noble Messengers. 133 [and so,] when [We decreed the doom of his sinful town,] We saved him and his household, 134 except for an old woman who was among those that stayed behind. 135 Then We destroyed the rest [i.e. the towns of Sodom at the place of the Dead Sea (now) in Palestine]. [See the "Book of History" by Ibn Kathir]. 136 Verily, ye pass by their (sites), by day- 137 And at night-time; have ye then no sense? 138

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
