Hizb 46
< random >
And, verily, Yunus (Jonah) was one of the Messengers. 139 when he ran away to the laden ship 140 and cast lots, and was of the rebutted, 141 Then a (big) fish swallowed him and he had done an act worthy of blame. 142 Had it not been that he (repented and) glorified Allah, 143 he would certainly have remained in its belly till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We threw him on a wide bare tract of land while he was ill; 145 And We made a gourd tree grow over him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (folk) or more 147 and they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 So ask their opinion: “(Are you convinced) that your Lord should have daughters and you should have sons? 149 Did We create the angels females, to which they were witnesses? 150 Is it not a lie invented by them when they say: 151 God hath begotten. Verily they are the liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you judge? 154 Then will you not be reminded? 155 Or have ye a clear warrant? 156 Then bring your Book if you are truthful! 157 And they have made between Him and the jinn a kinship whereas the jinn assuredly know that they are to be brought up 158 Purity is to Allah from the matters they fabricate. 159 Except the bondmen of Allah sincere. 160 But as for you, and that you serve, 161 Not against Him can you cause (any) to fall into trial, 162 Except one who is (destined) to burn in Hell. 163 "There is not one of us who does not have his appointed place," (declare the angels.) 164 And most surely we are they who draw themselves out in ranks, 165 And indeed, we are those who exalt Allah." 166 AND, INDEED, they [who deny the truth] have always been wont to say, 167 'If only we had had a Reminder from the ancients, 168 we would surely have been God's chosen servants," 169 But they disbelieved in it, so they are going to know. 170 Our Word had already preceded Our worshipers, the Messengers, 171 that it is certainly they who will be helped; 172 And most surely Our host alone shall be the victorious ones. 173 So turn (away) from them for a while. 174 and see them; soon they shall see! 175 Do they wish (indeed) to hurry on our Punishment? 176 When it descends upon their courtyards, evil will be the morning of those forewarned. 177 Leave them alone for a while, 178 And see, for they are going to see. 179 Exaltations be to your Lord, the Lord of Might, above that they describe! 180 Peace be upon the Messengers 181 And all praise is due to God alone, the Sustainer of all the worlds! 182
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
