Hizb 46
< random >
Jonah was certainly a Messenger. 139 When he ran away to a ship completely laden, 140 And then they cast lots, and he was the one who lost; 141 And a fish swallowed him, and he was reproaching himself. 142 Had he not been one of those who struggled hard, 143 he would have lingered in its belly till the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a bare desert whilst he was sick. 145 And We caused to grow over him a tree, a gourd. 146 and We sent him forth to a nation of a hundred thousand or more, 147 And they believed, so We gave them provision till a time. 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad SAW): "Are there (only) daughters for your Lord and sons for them?" 149 Or created We the angels females while they were present? 150 It is only because of their false invention that they say, 151 "God has begotten children." They are truly liars. 152 Does He prefer sons to daughters? 153 What is the matter with you, how is it that you judge? 154 Will ye not then be admonished? 155 Or is there for you a plain authority? 156 Bring your Book, if you speak truly! 157 They have established a kinship between Allah and the angels; and the angels know well that these people will be arraigned (as culprits). 158 Glory be to God above that they describe, 159 Not thus, however, [behave] God's true servants: 160 So neither you nor those you worship 161 shall not be able to tempt anyone away from Allah 162 except him who shall roast in the Blazing Fire. 163 As for us, there is none but has an appointed station. 164 "And we are verily ranged in ranks (for service); 165 We glorify God." 166 And indeed the disbelievers used to say, 167 'If only we had a reminder from the ancients, 168 We would have been the chosen creatures of God." 169 Yet they disbelieve therein. Presently they shall come to know. 170 And surely Our word has gone forth respecting Our servants, the messengers: 171 That they would be helped, 172 and Our armies shall be the victors. 173 So, (O Prophet), leave them alone for a while, 174 and see them; soon they shall see! 175 Do they seek to hasten on Our Torment? 176 But then, once it alights upon them, hapless will be the awakening of those who were warned [to no avail]! 177 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from them, 178 And (then) see, for they too shall see. 179 Glory be to your Lord: the Lord of Glory is far above what they attribute to Him. 180 So peace be on the messengers, 181 It is only God, the Lord of the Universe, who deserves all praise. 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
