The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 and I am devising guile. 16 Therefore give them some respite – give them some time. 17
