When the messengers came to Lot and his family, 61 He said: "You are people I do not know." 62 They said: Nay, we have come to you with that about which they disputed. 63 And bring thee the Truth, and lo! we are truth-tellers. 64 So set out with your family in a watch of the night, and keep yourself behind them, and no one of you may turn around, and keep going ahead as you have been commanded." 65 And We conveyed to him [the decree] of that matter: that those [sinners] would be eliminated by early morning. 66 And the inhabitants of the city came rejoicing (at the news of the young men's arrival). 67 He said: Surely these are my guests, therefore do not disgrace me, 68 and fear God, and do not degrade me.' 69 They replied: 'Have we not forbidden you (the people of) the worlds' 70 Lot said, "These are my daughters if you want them." 71 By your life, (O Prophet), they went about blindly stumbling in their intoxication. 72 and thereupon the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at sunrise. 73 And We turned the township upside down and rained upon them stones of heated clay. 74 Surely, in that there are signs for those who contemplate. 75 surely it is on a way yet remaining; 76 surely in that is a sign for believers. 77 AND THE DWELLERS of the wooded dales [of Madyan, too,] were inveterate evildoers, 78 and We took vengeance on them. The two of them were upon a roadway manifest. 79
